Microsoft goes all in on AI with the introduction of Copilot, like Clippy except it does a whole lot more.
Remember Clippy? Well it’s like that except it does a whole lot more!
This week, Microsoft announced the launch of Microsoft Copilot, which utilises cutting-edge AI to empower users at work. With Copilot, users are able to harness the power of large language models (LLMs) in combination with their data from Microsoft Graph and the Microsoft 365 suite of apps to transform their words into the ultimate productivity tool.
This ground-breaking technology is fully integrated into Microsoft 365, delivering two powerful experiences. First, Copilot works seamlessly within Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, enabling users to unleash their creativity, enhance productivity, and elevate their skills. Additionally, Microsoft introduced Business Chat, a brand-new experience that draws on the power of LLMs, Microsoft 365 apps, and user data, including emails, chats, calendars, meetings, and contacts. Users simply provide natural language prompts such as "Update my team on the latest product strategy," and Business Chat generates a comprehensive status report based on the day's meetings, emails, and chat threads.
Rest assured that with Copilot, users maintain full control over their work. Users can choose to keep, modify, or discard suggestions as they saw fit. This technology allows users to be more creative in Word, analytical in Excel, expressive in PowerPoint, productive in Outlook, and collaborative in Teams.
Microsoft 365 Copilot seamlessly integrates into the apps people use every day, allowing them to stay focused on the task at hand and less on busy work.
In Word, Copilot writes, edits, summarises and creates alongside users as they work.
In PowerPoint, Copilot enables the creation process by transforming ideas into a designed presentation through natural language commands.
In Excel, Copilot helps unlock insights, identify trends, or create professional-looking data visualisations in a fraction of the time.
In Outlook, Copilot can help synthesize and manage the inbox, allowing more time to be spent on actual communication.
In Teams, Copilot makes meetings more productive by providing real-time summaries and action items directly in the context of the conversation.
In Power Platform, Copilot helps developers of all skill levels accelerate and streamline development with low-code tools, including two new capabilities within Power Apps and Power Virtual Agents.
Additionally, Business Chat brings together data from documents, presentations, emails, calendars, notes, and contacts to help summarise chats, write emails, find key dates, or even create a plan based on other project files.
